Willem Klok and Yaz Armağan Arslankaya nominated for Talking Science
On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, the PhD's will present their research to a broad audience
Willem Klok will take the stage with his pitch titled “Spooky Scary Finance.” He will delve into the intricacies of the financial system, unraveling its complexity and demonstrating how we are all directly involved. Willem is a PhD researcher in the Technology, Innovation, and Society group. His passion for sustainability is evident in his approach to technology, social aspects, and now finance during his doctoral research.
Yaz Armağan Arslankaya will present her research titled “Smart Hearing for Everyone.” Her focus is on improving the acceptance and user experience of AI-based hearing devices, with the goal of enhancing accessibility and quality of life for diverse user groups. Yaz is a PhD researcher in the Human-Technology Interaction group. In her free time, she enjoys capturing the beauty of nature with her drone.
The jury winners will receive a prize of €750 for first place and €500 for second place. Additionally, there will be an audience choice winner selected by the attendees, who will also receive a prize of €500. We look forward to inspiring pitches from Willem and Yaz on this special day!
