The ICMS community
Our vibrant community of TU/e researchers thrives on sharing knowledge and ideas, constantly enriching, challenging and supporting each other. As a cross-disciplinary hub we unite scientists from diverse fields like BioMedical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Applied Physics, fostering scientific excellence beyond boundaries.
Members are selected based on their excellence, research theme fit, and their record of active engagement. Our core members have committed for the longer term to ICMS. Their research group members - UDs, UHDs, PhDs, PDs and MSc students - are also ICMS members. Affiliated members are temporarily connected to ICMS and can become a core member.
PhD community
The ICMS PhD Outreach Team, led by affiliated PhD students, aims to foster a vibrant community within ICMS research groups. Through various events, we promote academic excellence, facilitate interdisciplinary interactions, and support personal development. Our annual ICMS PhD Publication Award recognizes outstanding research papers, offering a platform for PhDs to present their work and gain recognition. Postdoc community
The postdoc phase in the scientific journey presents numerous opportunities, but also demands decisive choices. ICMS fellows are committed to connecting postdocs, organizing quarterly events that feature informal talks on diverse career paths and decisions. Experienced speakers share their insights, creating crucial moments of reflection. These events, coupled with courses like scientific communication, contribute to a supportive environment. Networking drinks follow each session, strengthening the ICMS postdoc community.
