Our CORe values

Eindhoven University of Technology is the university where innovation starts and where people matter.

Where innovation starts
To play a key role in scientific and technological innovation, we must remain curious and open to continuously explore new findings and insights in both fundamental and applied research. We foster open interdisciplinary collaboration with respect for all fields of expertise to enable, design and build responsible technological innovations that support industry and society. In our educational programs, we show the way to the new generation of researchers and engineers, and enable them to contribute to scientific and technological innovation in the future.

Where people matter
Whether student, scientist, support staff, partner or guest, people are the heart and soul of TU/e. We embrace a personal, warm and empathic culture, where everyone respects each other. We believe in diversity – broadly defined – as a means to accomplish our mission of bringing meaningful and responsible innovation to the world.

Therefore, as TU/e community, we embrace and live our four CORe values: Curious, Open, Respectful and Responsible.

Curious: We cherish curiosity, driving us to explore, question, and innovate, encouraging continuous learning and discovery.

Open: We value an open accessible culture and are transparent and trustworthy about our actions.

Respectful: We care for each other, treat everyone with respect, and welcome people from diverse backgrounds.

Responsible: We shape the future, lead by example, and make a positive impact on society and sustainable innovation.

These values describe our culture and define our behavior. We at TU/e are committed to these values, and to the codes of conduct and regulations, derived from them. Our values and the value-aligned codes of conduct guide how we work and study at our university, and serve as the common ground for all TU/e's decisions, policies, processes, and actions.

As a learning organization, we will continue to reflect together on how to put the values into practice. Please feel free to give any additions, comments or ideas to our team through our team lead Ingrid Heynderickx
