Making farmlands greener using plasmas

Current agricultural practices are unsustainable, due to fertilizers produced emitting tons of CO2. Plasmas can create fertilizers in a fossil-free and carbon-neutral manner. Lasers literally shine a light on to how these mysterious plasmas work.

Tess van Eeden is a PhD student at DIFFER. As a kid she was already determined to do something about climate change and make this world more sustainable. Now she brings this into practice by researching sustainable innovations for the chemical industry. Next to this, she is a sailing instructor, enjoys working out in the gym, and is saving to travel Europe in a camper van.
